Rituals are such an important part of self-care. Having consistent, steady self-care practices can help you find more ease and happiness in your daily life.

Nurturing yourself with soothing, daily rituals can help you come back to centre, find your balance, and reconnect with your Source and your angelic guides, who are always supporting you throughout your day.

Much like having a morning practice, creating space for a gentle bedtime routine is really important. A consistent bedtime practice can help you relax and unwind from your day, re-align with your intentions, and prepare you for a deep, healing, good night's sleep.

Here are a few tips to help you create a soothing, supportive bedtime routine.

An amethyst crystal and a lit candle sitting on a wood desk. Plants are visible on a shelf in the background.

Switch off an hour before bedtime.

It's ideal if you can keep your bedtime consistent every night. An hour before you go to sleep, make it a point to switch off from your devices. Place them on do not disturb. Dim the lights in your bedroom and light a candle if you like. This will begin to set the stage for rest, and send a signal your mind and body that it's time to unwind and prepare for sleep.

Read an uplifting book.

Keep a book on your bedside table that always helps you feel good. Choose something mindful, that soothes your energy, doesn't stimulate you too much, and helps you feel peaceful and comfortable. Any books by Esther and Jerry Hicks, Wayne Dyer, or Louise Hay will fit this intention beautifully.

Tuck a crystal under your pillow.

Crystals are very helpful to support a good night's sleep. Tuck one under your pillow before you fall asleep, or keep one on your bedside table.

Some crystals that can support a deeper rest and can help you recall your dreams are: Rose Quartz, Lepidolite, Celestite, Angelite, Amethyst, and Moonstone.

Journal your blessings.

Journalling your blessings is such a powerful practice. Keep a journal especially for this. Before you fall asleep, take 10 minutes (or more) to write about the best things that happened during your day, and the things that you appreciate most about your life.

As you practice this, you'll feel your energy opening up, clarity will flow, and your perspective will shift. The more you practice counting your blessings before you sleep, the more your vibration will rise. You'll fall asleep in a more uplifted state, and you'll awaken into those wonderful feelings as well. And then, the next day you'll begin to attract even more beautiful blessings.

Talk to your Source and your angels before you fall asleep.

As you lay your head down on your pillow, open up a conversation with your Source and your angels. Thank them for all the wonderful things in your life. Ask that they surround you, your family, and your home with their pure, positive, Love Energy. Ask that they help you have a good night's sleep, and that you awaken feeling rested, refreshed and rejuvenated.

If you are a Reiki practitioner or Master, take about 10 minutes to offer yourself Reiki. You will likely find yourself drifting off into a very peaceful sleep.

I hope these suggestions support you in creating a nourishing bedtime practice for yourself. Start with a few of the tips that feel best to you, add more in as you are guided.

You'll soon find yourself sleeping better, having lovely dreams, and awakening into days that wonderful to you.
