A Gentle Ritual For Peace And Healing


Happy New Year lovely souls! I hope your 2018 has been wonderful so far! It feels like there is so much fresh new energy surrounding us as we step into the New Year. Fresh new desires are at the forefront of our minds, and so is the desire to align with them, which is a beautiful thing.

There's been lots going on for me over at Earth Elements HQ! I've been spending most of my time prepping for the new, in depth Reiki Master training happening next weekend, and also enjoying the unfolding of some new projects; one of them being the Reiki Shares; the first one of which happened last weekend, which was such a beautiful time!

I've managed to find a joyful balance between work, play (work is really starting to feel like play these days) and self-care. Somehow all of these things have blended together and are feeding each other as I tend to myself more and engage with the rituals that lift me up and help me to feel my best!

Today I'm sharing one of my feel-good rituals with you! It's one that I turn to when I want to reconnect with my Soul Self and tune back into my heart. It's a simple ritual, and one that helps me to feel so rejuvenated, peaceful and whole.

I shared another version of this ritual at our Reiki Share and I'll be sharing a deeper version with my Reiki Masters in next weekend's training. It's one that anyone can do though, regardless if you are a Reiki practitioner or not.

So, to begin, you'll want to find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. I like to do this in my bed, cozied up under my blankets and propped up against my pillows. It's nice to get as comfortable as you can for this.

Once you're all cozy, close your eyes and place your hands on your belly. Take some nice, deep breaths into your belly; so as you inhale, you feel your belly moving into your hands, and as you exhale, you feel your belly relaxing away from your hands. Focus on your breathing until you feel yourself relaxing and feeling even more comfortable.

Once you've found this place, silently say to yourself a version of the following: "My Source (or angels, or Soul, whatever feels right), I'm ready to receive you now." And just allow that natural communication to take place. You might drift off to sleep, or you might feel some lovely, gentle sensations in your body. There's no need to try to direct the energy that you feel, just allow it to unfold naturally. If you feel like releasing that deep breathing and relaxing your arms, feel free. You may receive images or visions, or nothing at all may happen. Whatever happens (or doesn't) is perfect.

You can spend as long as you like here. I often stay here for about 10 minutes and when I come out, I feel wonderful; totally refreshed and back to feeling like myself. Play with your own timing and allow this ritual to evolve for you naturally.
