A Green Smoothie Recipe For Vitality

Updated: Apr 22

I'm a big believer in nourishing all parts of yourself; mind, body, and your connection to Spirit. The more you care for your mind and body, the more open you are to the Love of your Source and your angelic family. And the better your Life becomes.

Wholesome, nourishing foods are an important part of caring for your precious body. When you fill yourself up with nutrient dense foods, your body works more efficiently. Your energy is lifted, you feel better overall, and you're able to take care of things that are important to you.

A daily green smoothie has become part of my own self-care practice. I love the feeling of energy and vitality I get from my morning green smoothie. It's easy to make, and paired with some toast, eggs, or hash browns, it creates a delicious, nourishing breakfast; a wonderful way to flow into the day.

The lovely thing about green smoothies is that they are completely customizable. You can add your favourite superfoods, fruits that are in season, and veggies that you love. Kiddos love them too, so if you have little ones in your life, they will likely enjoy sharing a smoothie with you.

Below is the recipe for my favourite green smoothie. It will yield one large glass. Feel free to double the recipe if you like.

Note: I do have some options for the fruit and veggies, if you'd like to switch it up. If you're not a fan of cold smoothies (I prefer room temperature smoothies myself), just rinse the frozen fruit in warm water until it defrosts. And you can gently warm up your milk in a saucepan (or microwave if you prefer) until the chill goes away too.

My Favourite Green Smoothie Recipe

Makes 1 (generous) cup.

Ingredients:

1 banana (or 1 cup of fresh or frozen mango, pineapple, or peaches)

1 cup milk of choice (cow, almond, oat, soy, etc.)

1 tbsp ground flaxseeds

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tbsp pumpkin seeds

1/2 tsp coconut oil

A handful of spinach (or 1-2 leaves of swiss chard or kale, tough stems removed)

Instructions:

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender (a Vitamix works great). Blend until smooth (about 1 minute).

Serve in your favourite glass. Breathe deeply, and enjoy the feeling of nourishing your beautiful body. ♥
